VCSblue uses interactive, real world and trauma informed video scenarios that capture multiple LE, Fire, EMS and Paramedic interactions. In addition, VCSblue provides videos designed for all First Responders to identify mental health issues that challenge and educate them to correctly identify the issues and respond accordingly towards successful outcomes.
De-escalation communication and mental health recognition skills are perhaps the least ‘practiced’ of the perishable skills in both law enforcement and the First Responder genre. VCSblue fills this void by providing a ‘measurable matrix’ designed to grade the performance of your officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMS personnel.

VCSblue provides ‘evidence based ‘mental health recognition’ and ‘de-escalation communication’ education for the most common issues facing Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS Personnel, Paramedics and Correctional Officers.
Our presenters and trainers developed VCSblue based upon real world occurrences that demand additional education and training in both ‘De-Escalation Communication’ and ‘Mental Health Recognition’ concepts, principles, and responses.

The language we use in the training is completely endemic to the communities of First Responders. The video scenarios are replications of events faced by First Responders every day. Our mission is to bring relevant training designed to educate team members in both de-escalation communication and mental health recognition to reduce negative outcomes, improve public trust and reduce mental health and stress issues.

Due to the exponential rise in mental health related calls across the country, First Responders are placed in potentially dangerous scenarios each day. Community trust is compromised when negative outcomes result from improperly trained First Responders and legal issues may result which include civil lawsuits and disciplinary action. Negative outcomes can also affect the mental health and wellness of First Responders.

VCSblue was created by law enforcement and mental health experts in response to a severe lack of de-escalation communication and mental health recognition training for First Responders. Multiple cases that have resulted in negative outcomes are evident in national cases such as George Floyd, Sonya Massey, Victor Perez, Kelly Thomas, Brianna King and unfortunately many others.
